1. Introduction

BlockWise Forensics & Recovery Ltd ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your digital assets and personal information. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and safeguard your data in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information strictly necessary to perform wallet recovery, forensic tracing, and identity verification (KYC).

  • Personal Identification: Name, address, and government-issued ID (for KYC/AML compliance).
  • Contact Information: Email address and phone number.
  • Recovery Data: Encrypted wallet files (e.g., wallet.dat, keystore.json), partial passwords, and hardware device logs.
  • Forensic Data: Transaction hashes (TXIDs) and public addresses for tracing services.
Important: We do not collect or store full seed phrases via our website. Seed phrases are only handled offline after an NDA is signed.

3. Operational Security & Data Handling

We differentiate between "Online Data" (contact info) and "Offline Data" (wallet files/keys).

  • Air-Gapped Protocol: All brute-force recovery attempts occur on isolated, air-gapped GPU clusters that are physically disconnected from the internet.
  • Encryption: Data transmitted to us is done so via end-to-end encrypted channels.
  • Limited Access: Only Senior Engineers with specific clearance have physical access to the recovery hardware.

4. Data Retention

Upon the conclusion of a case (whether successful or unsuccessful):

  • Wallet Data: Permanently wiped from our servers and hardware within 7 days of case closure.
  • KYC Data: Retained for the statutory period required by New Zealand Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws, stored in encrypted offline cold storage.

5. Disclosure of Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. We may disclose information only if:

  • Required by New Zealand law or a valid court order.
  • Necessary to report a confirmed crime to authorities (in cases of Scam Victim Reporting).
